ethical research involving children.

At c55 Creative, we had the privilege of working with Ethical Research Involving Children (ERIC – Child Ethics)—a globally respected initiative grounded in the belief that children’s rights, dignity, and wellbeing must be upheld in all research contexts, without exception. ERIC – Child Ethics emerged from a shared international concern that children are not just subjects of research, but individuals whose voices, experiences, and agency deserve to be respected at every stage of the process.

The foundation for ERIC – Child Ethics was laid over several years of rich dialogue and collaboration within the Childwatch International Research Network, a collective of over 50 child research centres across the world. Between 2004 and 2011, these discussions evolved into a shared vision: to create a practical, accessible resource that would guide researchers, institutions, and ethics committees in conducting research with children ethically and responsibly.

We worked closely with the ERIC – Child Ethics team to develop a brand and website that could communicate this vital mission with clarity, warmth, and professionalism. The digital presence needed to feel approachable for a global audience, while maintaining the rigour and credibility the work demands.

The result is a platform that not only shares resources, principles, and guidance but also amplifies the commitment to ethical practice in child research worldwide. We’re honoured to have supported a project so deeply rooted in respect, collaboration, and advocacy for children’s rights.
